HANA, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Three women in a vehicle traveling to Wailuku on Hana Highway went off the side of the road and ended up 60 ft. below in a ravine Tuesday night.
The accident occurred at mile marker 21.5 on the Paia side of Puaa Kaa State Park.
Personnel from the Hana fire station and a rescue company from Kahului responded to the scene. The Hana fire crew arrived and met with the three women who had made their way up the ravine.
The women were all in their early twenties and suffered some cuts and lacerations. All three were transported to the hospital, but one woman sustained a right ankle injury and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
