CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
The man convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend's father laughed at the judge during his sentencing on Tuesday.
Clifford Jackson was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
On June 10, 2011, Jackson, 36, broke into his ex's parents house on Ivy Avenue in Cleveland and started to assault his ex-girlfriend with a handgun. The ex-girlfriend's father, David J. Thompson, 42, heard the commotion and confronted Jackson, who shot him in the face. He later died.
Jackson fled the scene on foot, and was arrested two days later riding his bicycle.
On May 17, 2013, a jury found Jackson guilty of murder, aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, kidnapping and attempted aggravated murder.
