Sacred Hearts Academy hires varsity volleyball coach

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kelly Ong was named Sacred Hearts Academy Head Varsity Volleyball Coach.  Ong most recently served as the Saint Louis School Assistant Varsity Coach and head statistician for the University of Hawaii at Manoa Men's Volleyball program.  Additionally, Ong was the Club Director at Elite Sports Academy.  Earlier in her career, she was the Iolani School Assistant Girls' Varsity Coach.

As a collegiate student-athlete, Ong played under Dave Shoji at UH-Manoa (2003-2006) as a defensive and serving specialist.  Ong is a graduate of Bishop O'Dowd High School, Oakland, California.

Sacred Hearts Academy Athletic Director, Ryan Hogue, said, "We are very excited to have Kelly as part of the Lancer Athletic Department.  She brings an incredible passion for the game and the development of young people.  Her experience in the ILH, national club level, as well as her connections at the collegiate level, will serve Sacred Hearts' athletes well."

Sacred Hearts Academy, 3253 Waialae, is Hawaii's largest and oldest all-girls school.  The Academy educates girls aged 3 to 18, focusing on a well-rounded college preparatory education dedicated to  preparing young women for the 21st Century.
