In a musical era where autotune covers a multitude of vocal sins, sheer unedited talent is harder to find than ever.
If you weren't sure how legit her vocal chops actually are outside of Protools, Paramore's Hayley Williams has invited us all into the tracking booth, releasing a video of her first take of Still Into You.
We're guessing she didn't need many more takes after that.
Still unimpressed? Scroll to 3:00 and believe.
On that note, we here at YWIM will not be releasing any raw clips of ourselves anytime soon.
Like Billy Joel? You'll love Brendan James
It's been said that if you like Billy Joel, you'll like Brendan James. We'll back that up.
James takes heartfelt lyrics and puts them to folk and piano-based music. What results is a melody that is "as timely as it is timeless."
James claims that Carly Simon was his musical inspiration growing up. His dreams were made a reality when she invited him over for a personal duet session at her house early in his career. That session produced the duet version of Let The River Run, which was streamed during the 2003 Nobel Peace Price ceremony in Oslo, Norway.
He debuted his first album The Day Is Brave in 2008 and his second album Brendan James later that year. Both albums climbed the iTunes Top 10 chart and Brendan James reached No. 1 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart.
After a brief hiatus from music in 2011, James emerged more creative and stronger than ever which is apparent in his third album Hope in Transition.
Never heard his music? Now is the time to give it a try.
NoiseTrade is currently featuring a free download of 10 songs from all different points in James' career, including three songs from his fourth and unreleased album Simplify, which is set to be released in August.
Oh, and what's even cooler - James is currently touring the U.S., and in his free time, he does private backyard concerts. Check out his Facebook page to see if he's playing near you.
Not luck, just talent
Daft Punk's Get Lucky has already taken the No. 1 iTunes spot across the world and is quickly headed toward topping Billboard's Songs of the Summer chart.
As expected, a song that popular is bound to get a lot of YouTube covers.
We checked out a few, but when we found Kenny Serane's acoustic cover of the electronic hit, our jaws hit the ground. We had a winner.
Serane is a professional guitar player, and after one view of this video, it's clear he chose the right career path.
So here's to Serane, this cover and epic talent.

Kids these days just don't make music like they used to ... and one adorable 89-year-old lady knows it.
Filmmaker Alexis Newman shot a video of her landlord, Carol Lyn Black, lip syncing her favorite song, Happy Days Are Here Again, originally recorded in 1930.
We agree, Carol, dub step can't hold a candle to the standards.
