Posted: Updated:
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Residents in the area of Schofield Barracks may experience periodic increases in noise for the next couple of days due to field artillery training exercises.

The Army says the Marine Corps and the Hawaii Army National Guard participate in the exercises, which run from June 10-21, between the hours of 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.

The Marines will conduct their field artillery training exercise, June 10-14, and the Guardsmen will conduct their field artillery training exercise, June 11-21.

Noise levels can vary due to weather conditions. Overcast conditions may increase noise and vibrations. Smoke may be visible for a short time; however, there is no immediate danger.

To report concerns related to noise or training, community members can call the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii (USAG-HI) Noise Concern Line at (808) 656-3487.

The USAG-HI Public Affairs Office responds to all reported concerns during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m - 4 p.m.
