HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii is celebrating 25 years of fighting kidney disease in Hawaii with their 25th Anniversary Journey to a Cure--Concert event happening tonight, June 7th at the Hawaii Theatre beginning at 5:30pm.

The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii has had the honor of partnering over the last several years with local performers, Keith and Carmen Haugen, who created this fun annual event. In its 7th anniversary, the Peace on Earth Concert will be headlined by one of Hawaii's most accomplished performers, Uncle Willie K. Other performers include, MC, Danny Kaleikini, Hawaii's "Ambassador of Aloha", Stan Haugen's Jazz Band, Gary Aiko & The Islanders, and the Carmen Haugen Quartet. The concert will also kick off with Uncle Willie K's "Challenge to Get Healthy" with a weigh-in by Uncle Willie K. This will be a four-month health challenge to the people of Hawaii, to "Get Up, Get Active and Get Healthy".

Proceeds from the event will go to help the Kidney Foundation and the Lupus Hawai`i Foundation. $25 tickets may be purchased at the theatre box office at 1130 Bethel Street. To purchase tickets on-line click HERE.
