HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The commute in and out of Hawaii Kai could be a nightmare for a second straight night.
A Board of Water Supply (BWS) contractor will be working to repave the three westbound lanes of Kalanianaole Highway, from Kaai Street to Waa Street, beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The road repaving work will involve the closure of all westbound lanes on Kalanianaole Highway near the Wailupe Fire Station. At least one eastbound lane will be used to contraflow traffic. Special duty police officers will be on site to assist with traffic flow. Motorists are advised to please use caution while driving through the work area and to take an alternate travel route, if possible.
The road repaving work will be done to repair the section of Kalanianaole Highway where a water main break occurred on Monday, June 3.
