Police investigate stabbing near Mayor Wright Homes

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Tuesday morning near Mayor Wright Homes in Kalihi.

Paramedics report that an 18-year-old man was taken to the hospital in serious condition with multiple stab wounds at around 1:30 a.m., and a Hawaii News Now crew at the scene was told the injuries were likely the result of a fight between two men.

Honolulu police have confirmed that the suspect, 21, and the victim were involved in a physical confrontation, but are still trying to determine what caused the fight.

Police say they are unable to reveal what the dangerous instrument was used in the altercation. Witnesses reportedly identified the suspect, and the man was subsequently arrested.

Police records show that a man named Rimos Soichy was arrested near the scene of the reported altercation and is being held on suspicion of attempted murder.
