Sheriff: One dead in shooting in Smith County

Smith County Sheriff's Department responded a short time ago to a call from western Smith county.

The call was in the 100 block of Patton Street, south of 64W. When deputies arrived, they say they were told that there had been a confrontation between two men, and shots had been fired.

One of the men is now deceased, and the other man is being questioned by the Sheriff's department on the scene.

We have a reporter on the scene and will update as more information is released.
