WAIANAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A visitor from Oregon who vanished five days ago was found dead on the side of a highway near Yokohama Bay. The case is classified as an unattended death as police wait for the Medical Examiner's Office to determine how Ivanice "Ivy" Harris, 29, died. Her family and friends are devastated by the news.

Ivan Harris is heartbroken by the death of his younger sister. He had a bad feeling when she suddenly stopped updating her Facebook page during her trip to Hawaii.

"She is a Facebook fanatic and when she didn't Facebook anything, I knew something was wrong," said Ivan Harris during a phone interview from Portland.

The Portland resident traveled to Hawaii with her friends and boyfriend, Mark Miles, to celebrate her 29th birthday. She was last seen alive on Thursday at 2:15 a.m. talking to an unknown male outside Kelley O'Neil's in Waikiki.

After she vanished, those close to her passed out flyers and set up a special Facebook page to spread the word through social media. Then shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday night, her body was found in some brush along Farrington Highway just before Yokohama Bay. According to a source, several distinctive tattoos helped lead to her identification.

"She's little me and I'll never get that back again," said Ivan Harris.

Ivy Harris had worked as an escort for years, according to her brother.

"She was in the life, you know. That life. But I don't believe that Mark did anything to her," said Ivan Harris.

Her brother suspects that she ran into trouble with a stranger.

"She was in a situation that she couldn't get out of," said Ivan Harris.

"You mean with a customer or client?" questioned the reporter.

"Exactly," Ivan Harris said.

Relatives are raising funds to help bring her body home. You can find information on how to donate at a Facebook page called "BRING Ivanice HOME."

Honolulu police are urging anyone with information on this case to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
