A Waipahu man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 6-week-old baby boy, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
Police officials say 38-year-old Joel Asuncion was taken into custody Wednesday evening and is being held on suspicion of second degree murder. He had not yet been charged as of early Thursday morning.
The baby boy was reportedly found unresponsive at home on Tuesday and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police investigators described his injuries as "non-accidental."
It is unclear at this point if Asuncion is related to the baby.
