HONOLULU (AP) - The attorney for a Wahiawa man accused of going on a deadly Honolulu highway shooting rampage says jurors don't have enough evidence to prove his client's intent.

Jurors began deliberations Tuesday in the case of Toby Stangel, who faces murder, attempted murder and other charges in the 2011 shooting spree that left a mother of 10 dead and two people wounded.

Stangel didn't testify during the trial.

Defense attorney John Schum said during closing argument that the prosecution didn't prove why the shootings happened. Schum says Stangel's actions were simply reckless.

But prosecutor Dwight Nadamoto says Stangel fired multiple times and intended to kill.
