The Monroe Lady Tornadoes have won four straight girls track state titles, but it may be another team right here in Albany who breaks that streak.
While the girls state track and field championships have belonged to Monroe for nearly the last half decade, it's the Westover Lady Patriots hoping to keep the title in the Good Life City.
Led by Ahyanna Mitchell and Ericka Taylor, the Lady Patriots are coming off the Region Title over Monroe.
Now, Head Coach Harley Calhoun believes the motivation to break that streak could push his girls over the top.
"You always want to be the one to break that streak and not let anybody else do that. But it helps us take that to the next level," Calhoun says. "Monroe's streak is very impressive. It's brought a lot of great pride to the city of Albany and we just want to be a part of that."
The GHSA Girls' State Championship meet takes place all weekend at Hugh Mills Stadium.
