Less than two weeks after being drafted into the NFL, Manti Te'o is officially a member of the San Diego Chargers after agreeing to a contract Thursday.
Details of the deal have not been released. Te'o was the 39th overall pick by the Chargers in April's draft. Last years 39th overall pick, Janoris Jenkins, signed a 4 year / $4.99 million dollar contract with the St. Louis Rams.
Te'o -- a Punahou alum -- ended his college career with Notre Dame as the most decorated player in college football, winning 8 individual post-season awards including the Maxwell award -- given to the player of the year -- and finishing as the runner up in the Heisman Trophy race.
In addition to signing Te'o, the Chargers said they finalized deals with California wide receiver Keenan Allen (Round Three), Florida International outside linebacker Tourek Williams (Round Six) and Southern Utah quarterback Brad Sorensen (Round Seven).
