BMX Champ offers Albany clinic

There is usually no better person to learn from than someone who is recognized as one of the best in the world.

That's exactly who several young BMXers got the chance to learn from today at Chehaw.

Six-time world champion Dominique Daniels held a clinic at the Chehaw BMX track Tuesday evening.

The pro rider gave tips on technique as well as provided drills the youngsters could practice to improve.

Daniels is likely to compete at the 2016 Olympics, and says one of the reasons BMX is appealing to her and the kids at the clinic is how pros like her connect with young BMXers.

"One really good opportunity that is also in our sport is that the pros and champions are accessible," Daniels says. "That's what I've done today, is I've made myself accessible to these kids."

The Chehaw BMX Team says they will have another clinic next week with another pro BMX rider. That clinic is also open to the public.
