Clouds and showers will make for a gray and gloomy Sunday for much for the state as a weak frontal boundary moves slowly across the state.
Scattered showers ahead of the cold front were seen on radar., mainly near Kauai, Oahu and Molokai. There were also were scattered clouds for Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii.
Winds will be light from the south ahead of the front, with light northerly winds behind the front. Either way, the lack of winds will allow for afternoon showers over interior sections of the islands. Some of those showers may be heavy.
The unstable conditions contributed to the formation of heavy rain over parts of the Kohala District of the Big Island, which were under a flood advisory overnight. The advisory was allowed to expire after the showers moved offshore.
