Brown Bags To Stardom Winners Ho'okipa Live on Sunrise!, Part 1

(Hawaii News Now) - Brown Bags to Stardom was started in 1980 by KIKI (I-94) radio station Program Director Jeff Coelho, DJ's- Kamasami Kong, Ron Wiley (KONG Radio Kauai) and John Fink of KHNL. It was stopped in 2001 and revived by Johnny Kai Productions in 2006 as a music television show for Hawaii's schools.  Originally for high schools only - JKai expended the program to Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, private schools, charter schools and even home-schooled students.  Past winners contestants include: Na Leo Pilimehana, Glenn Medeiros, Kolohe Kai, Jake Shimabukuro, Da Braddahs, Kapena, Tia Carrere, Daniel Ho, Justin, Ilona Irvine, Irie Love, Tracie Toguchi, and  Tani Lynn.

This years' first place winners of the musical group category are Castle High Schools "Ho'okipa", and they stopped by to perform LIVE on Sunrise.
