Flood Advisory issued for Kailua-Kona

KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Flood Advisory for Kailua-Kona on the island of Hawaii until 11 p.m.

  • At 7:48 p.m., radar showed an area of persistent moderate to heavy showers over leeward Big Island, from the Kona Village resort to Keahole Point to Kailua-kona and Holualoa. The area of heavy rain was nearly stationary.

  • Additional showers will also affect the area from Puako to the Kona Village Resort, including the area near the waikoloa Beach Resort. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 11:00 p.m. if Heavy Rain persists.
