PAHOA, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The last time 22-year-old Alyssa Locquiao saw her son was nearly a month ago.  She had given permission to the toddler's paternal grandmother to go to Hawai'i Island for a few days, but her son was never returned.

After weeks of searching, 2-year-old Kingszon Sanchez was discovered around 3 p.m. Tuesday by Hilo Juvenile Aid Section detectives at a home in Pahoa.  Officials say he was taken from Lana'i to Hawai'i Island on March 5th by his father's mother, 53-year-old Katherine Hunter.  According to Kingszon's mother, Hunter only had permission to visit with the toddler for a few days and was supposed to bring him back to Lana'i.  Hunter is now facing custodial interference charges.

Kingszon's biological father, 25-year-old Noah Sanchez, also faces custodial interference charges, in addition to other charges stemming from an outstanding warrant for violating the conditions of his bail after he was released on a 2nd degree assault charge.

Locquiao is Kingszon's biological mother and only legal guardian.  According to officials, she left Lana'i to search for her son and last saw Kingszon on March 30th at a restaurant in Pahoa, but she wasn't able to reach him before Sanchez and Hunter drove away.

Court records indicate Locquiao had a restraining order against Kingszon's father in 2011.  It expired in August of 2012.

Hilo detectives say Kingszon was discovered unharmed and was expected to be reunited with his mother Tuesday evening.
