Cold front moving towards Kauai and Oahu

Posted: Updated:
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

An approaching cold front will shut down the trades and turn winds light and southerly by Saturday. That will mean an increase in humidity and some volcanic haze.

The front will bring increasing showers to Kauai and Oahu Sunday, and then continue wetter than normal weather into the work week.

The weather will likely be wetter than average until mid-week, when the trade winds are expected to return and gradually dry us out.

Waves are subsiding out in the country. The next NW swell will be a small one and show up on Monday. A larger, moderate sized swell will come in from the NW next Thursday. East shores will be slightly elevated as long as the stronger trade winds blow. Not much expected for south facing shores.
