Winners were announced for Hawaii's Better Business Bureau 2013 Torch Awards held Thursday at the Sheraton Waikiki.
"The awards ceremony is really recognizing those good businesses here in Hawaii," said Timothy Caminos, director of communications and public relations for Hawaii's Better Business Bureau. "Those that are not only meeting our BBB standards but really exceeding them in their own rights, so it's really about the celebration of those businesses."
Top honors were given to small, medium and large businesses as well as a charitable group and local entrepreneur. To win, each needed to demonstrate the highest set of ethics and integrity in their categories.
The winners include:
Small Business: Pop-A-Lock

Medium Business: HiEmployment
(nominees: Element Media Inc., HiEmployment, Staffing Solutions of Hawaii)
Large Business: Veracity Payment Solutions
(nominees: Honolulu Homeloans, Ruby Tuesday Hawaii, Veracity Payment Solutions)
Charity: Child & Family Service
(nominees: Assistance League Hawaii, Child & Family Service, Junior Achievement of Hawaii)
Keahou Award (innovation and Entrepreneurship): Steve Sue of BizGym.com
