(RNN) - After the tragic events of Monday's Boston Marathon that left three dead and injured more than 170, people turned to Fred Rogers for comfort and a positive reminder that through chaos, there are still good people in the world.
Although Mr. Rogers, as he is more commonly known, isn't with us anymore, his words of encouragement are flooding social media as people come to grips with another act of terrorism on American soil.
A meme features Mr. Roger's saying:
"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in the world."
Rogers died on Feb. 27, 2003 less than a month before his 75th birthday.
In addition to sharing the beloved children's TV hosts message, many on Facebook changed their cover photo to a picture of the Boston skyline, and others switched out their profile photo for the iconic "B" logo of the Boston Red Sox.
