BOSTON (WFSB) -

Families of victims of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown were at the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon, but so far there are no reports of injuries among them.

The families were seated in an area adjacent to where the bombs exploded near the finish line.

The race had special meaning to the families of the victims. The Boston Marathon started with 26 seconds of silence for the victims of the mass shooting.

The final mile of the race was also dedicated in memory of all those that lost their lives in the second-deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
