San Louis Obispo, CA. (HawaiiNewsNow) - Matt Cooper (2-4) went the distance, striking out seven and giving up four hits in eight innings, but it wasn't enough as the University of Hawaii baseball team lost to Cal Poly 3-2, Saturday, marking its seventh straight loss.
Austin Wobrock led UH with a pair of hits (2-2) and scored off a sacrifice fly by Piikea Kitamura in the 8th inning to pull UH within 3-2, but Hawaii could not get a beat on Cal Poly's Matt Inhof who tied a career high with 11 strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings.
The Rainbows fall to 7-24 on the season, 2-6 in Big West play.
Both teams wrap up the series Sunday at 10am HST.
