Board of Water Supply crews had their hands full Saturday as they are tended to three different water main breaks around the island.
Crews responded to a leak from a 12-inch water main in Kailua. The break was at 4 Aikahi Loop and caused 200 customers along and off of Old Mokapu Road to be without water until 3:30 p.m. when it was restored. The break was reported shortly before 5 a.m.
The break is only one of three incidents BWS had to deal with in the last 24 hours.
The first happened on Monsarrat Avenue around 5:15 p.m. Friday afternoon. Part of the roads between Campbell Avenue and Kanaina Avenue were shut down while crews repaired a leak from a six-inch main. Water service was fully restored by 7 a.m. Saturday and road were re-opened around noon.
BWS crews also responded to a break on Waialae Avenue. The leak to the eight-inch main was reported around 10:30 p.m. Friday night. Water service was cut off to about 30 customers and repairs were completed around 12:15 p.m.
All roads related to these incidents have been reopened.
