HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An Oahu jury on Monday convicted a former Hawaii Kai caregiver of selling an elderly woman's house and taking the money.
Susan Chin, 44, was convicted on three felony counts, including theft and money laundering.
Prosecutors say she convinced 85-year-old Katherine Ganeko to give her 'power of attorney' then sold Ganeko's home without her consent. Prosecutors say Chin, sold the home for $639,000 and then deposited most of the money into her own bank accounts.
Chin is scheduled to be sentenced in July.
