Pet cat dies in Aiea building fire

AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a two alarm building fire in Aiea Saturday night.

Flames broke out just before 9:30 p.m. at 98-1699 Kaahumanu Street at the Wailuna Apartment Complex.

Fire officials say it appears the fire started in a car parked in a garage.

No one was hurt, but a pet cat died in the blaze.

$160,000 in damage was done to the structure and $40,000 of damage was done to its contents. The cause is still under investigation.
