Wild house party leads to triple shooting

A wild house party lead to a triple shooting in Stamford early Saturday morning.

According to police, officers were called to the scene after receiving multiple reports stating continuous gunfire in the James Street area.

When officers arrived, they found a large crime scene with several homes and vehicles riddled with gunshots. Officers also reported multiple bullet casings in the roadway and blood trails in different directions.

Police immediately put Stamford Hospital on alert, and within a short time, three males in their 20s arrived in private vehicles.

Two 21-year-old males were treated for non-life-threatening wounds and were released. A third 22-year-old male underwent surgery for non-life-threatening wounds and was admitted for observation.

According to police, officers determined that there was a house party at 18 James St. and that got out of control. As the party goers attempted to remove several unwanted guests from the party a fight broke out which led to the shooting.

Police believe the motive for the shooting was caused by the simmering West Side/East Side rivalry which led to the argument and shooting.

Two homes were struck with gunfire and narrowly missed the sleeping occupants of the house. Officers recovered two weapons and are investigating to see if they are related to the shooting.

Officers recovered one weapon at the hospital and a second was recovered after a brief foot pursuit directly after the shooting.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and urge anyone with information to call 203-977-4417
