SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

A former RTA bus driver who hit an unruly female passenger changed his plea in court on Tuesday morning.

Artis Hughes pleaded no contest. He had originally pleaded not guilty at his arraignment last October.

Cell phone video that surfaced last year shows Hughes punching Shida Lane with an uppercut. He claimed Lane refused to pay her fare. She's then accused of assaulting and spitting on Hughes.

Hughes was fired, and Lane has been charged with disorderly conduct.
