Northwest swell triggers high surf advisory

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A high surf advisory has been issued for the north and west shores of Kauai and Niihau, and the north shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service expects surf to peak in the 10 to 15 foot face range through Monday night. Some wind-driven waves from the north will make conditions rough and choppy.

A small craft advisory is also in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday for Hawaiian coastal waters west of Molokai.
