HONOLULU – The Rainbows and Rainbow Wahine both came away winners Friday night.
Bob Coolen's softball team won its conference home opener 5-4 in 10 innings against UC Davis. Keiki Carlos hit a walk-off, solo home run in the 10th for the win.
Kelly Majam also homered, a solo blast in the 3rd inning. It was her 12th of the year. Kaia Parnaby pitched all 10 innings, striking out 11.
The series will conclude with a Saturday doubleheader from Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
The Rainbows got back on track with a 6-2 win over UCSB. Piikea Kitamura and Kaeo Aliviado each drove in two runs, while Conner George continued his torrid streak, going 3-3. He now has a 7 game hitting streak.
Corey MacDonald pitched a complete game, allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 2.
