Name of woman killed by garbage truck in Nu'uanu released

HONOLULU (AP) - Officials have released the name of an 88-year-old woman who was killed by a private garbage truck in downtown Honolulu.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser says Margaret Soo Kyung Kim died Monday.

According to the Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office, Kim died of blunt force injuries to her torso.

Kim was returning from her morning walk to her apartment at the Queen Emma Gardens condominium complex in Nuuanu when she apparently walked behind the Rolloffs Hawaii truck while it was backing up in a loading zone.

Kim was transported to The Queen's Medical Center, where she died.
