gas prices paused this week in most parts of the state, accordingto the
AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.
Hawaii state average for regular unleaded is $4.39 per gallon, which is
unchanged from last week, four cents more than last month and 16 cents less
than on this day last year.
average price is unchanged for four weeks at $4.31 a gallon for regular
unleaded – up 31 cents from last month and down 11 cents from a year ago.
the average gas price is $4.35 per gallon, also unchanged from last week, one
cent less than last month and 37 cents less than this time a year ago.
average is $4.54 a gallon, a penny less than last week, nine cents more than
last month and 16 cents more than the price last year.
two other states still have average gasoline prices stuck above $4 a gallon –
California at $4.04 and Alaska at $4.02," according to AAA Hawaii General
Manager Liane Sumida. "A way to improve your car's gas mileage is by
using the manufacturer's recommended motor oil. Choose oil with the phrase
‘energy conserving' stated on the American Petroleum Institute label. This oil
has friction-reducing additives."
