SOUTH AFRICA (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Thrill seekers off the coast of South Africa had a much closer encounter with a Great White shark than they planned for recently.
Video posted online by Bryan Plummer shows divers in what's supposed to be a shark-proof cage. Suddenly, a Great White shark swam up and wedged its head inside the cage.
The divers moved out of the way while the creature thrashed around for a few seconds and then made its way back out of the cage.
Plummer wrote online, "a shark ignores the bait and goes straight for the cage!! He gets his head inside the cage, while fellow diver Roger Gray (who got married the day before), acted quickly to swim below the gaping sharks mouth and to avoid any injury."
The incident was caught on video and posted on YouTube on March 22, 2013. After only a couple of days online, the clip has been viewed more than three million times.
