Cooper leads Bows to blanking of Wichita State

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A dominant pitching performance stole the headlines yet again at the Les Murakami Stadium on Saturday night. UH pitcher Matt Cooper had a career high 10-strikeouts as the University of Hawaii baseball team blanked Wichita State 7-0.

Cooper (2-2) worked 7.2 innings and allowed no runs, extending his scoreless streak mark to 16 and two-thirds innings.

Stephen Ventimilia went 2-4 from the dish with three runs and an RBI while Piikea Kitamura drove in three runs off two hits.

The 'Bows (5-16) and Shockers conclude their series on Sunday. First pitch at Les Murakami Stadium is set for 12:05 p.m.
