OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (HawaiiNewsNow) - The accolades continue to roll in for UH pitcher Kaia Parnaby in much the similar fashion she's been striking out the opposition.

Tuesday, the Rainbow Wahine ace was named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the week after setting a new school single-game record with 17 strikeouts and allowing just three runs in 51.0 innings of work. Along the way she also became the first pitcher this season to hit the 20-win mark in all of NCAA DI softball.

Parnaby went 6-1 with a 0.41 ERA last week during the Chevron Spring Fling Tournament. She also earned the College Sports Madness National Pitcher of the Week award as well as her third Big West Pitcher of the Week honor for her efforts.

In a 3-2 win over Syracuse, she struck out 17 batters setting a new single-game school record. Parnaby had double-digit strikeouts in four of her seven appearances on the week, but none more than the 17 batters she fanned in the tournament championship game against Syracuse.

Overall, Parnaby is 20-3 in 26 appearances with nine shut outs and two saves. She has thrown 163.2 innings already with 214 strike outs to just 21 walks. Parnaby has held opponents to a .166 batting average and currently has a career-low 0.98 ERA.

Hawaii begins Big West action this week as they travel to Cal State Northridge for a three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 23 and a single game on March 24.
