TCC ranks third in the Student Housing Business’s list of the top 25 owners of student housing

TCC ranked third in the annual Student Housing Business’s list of the top owners of student housing in the United States. The Collier Cos. continues to be the largest privately held student-housing provider in the country.

“We are very pleased by the ranking, but our passion is not to be the biggest, just the best,” Nathan S. Collier, founder and chairman of The Collier Cos, said.

Student Housing Business performed its annual survey of the top student housing owners and management companies during the fall. The data reflects properties owned by the companies as of October 31, 2012. The number of individual beds owned by each company is the benchmark used to determine the largest owners.

The Collier Cos. is also ranked seventh on the Student Housing Business’s list of the top 25 management companies of student housing properties.

The Collier Cos. is headquartered in Gainesville, Fla.-home of the University of Florida, the state’s flagship university. The Collier Cos. owns more than 45 properties and has over 10,500 apartment homes located in: Gainesville, Ocala, Orlando, Tampa, Tallahassee, and other Florida locations, as well as Norman, Okla., Champaign, Ill., and Athens, Ga. In an effort to give back to the community, The Collier Cos. has also endowed "The Nathan S. Collier Master's of Real Estate Program" at the University of Florida.
