Rainbow Wahine upset in quarter finals of Big West tournament

Irvine, CA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The UH women's basketball team blazed into the Big West tournament on a three game win streak but left exited with a self-inflicted thud.

The third-seeded Rainbow Wahine committed 22 turnovers in a 66-51 loss to eight-seed Cal State Fullerton  in the quarterfinals of the Big West Conference playoffs, Wednesday night.

Forward Kamilah Martin led the Bows with 15 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Freshman Ashleigh Karitiana chipped in nine points and six rebounds. Senior guard Monica DeAngelis ended her Rainbow career with nine points all of which came at the three-point line (3-5 3pt fgs).

UH falls to 17-13, 13-6 in Big West play.
