AINA HAINA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man witnessed a waterspout on the ocean Saturday.
Joey Carroll lives one mile from the ocean and he was checking out waves from his ocean-view home, hoping for a surf session Saturday morning with a friend at "Secrets."
A little after 8 a.m., Carroll was looking towards "Calvary By the Sea" and spotted the very tip of the spout forming from a cloud.
The funnel cloud spun towards the ocean surface, stretching from the base of the cloud all the way to the water.
"It was quite amazing to see it form. I think that was the really fun part was watching and see that thing grow from the cloud itself. It might have been just started to show this little dart and then the dart turned into a real long line. I knew that it was a real waterspout," Carroll said.
According to Carroll, the waterspout lasted for about three minutes.
There were no official reports of any injuries from the waterspout.
