Police make arrest in hit-and-run after Hartford parade


Three people were injured after being hit by car on Trumbull Street after the St. Patrick's Day parade.

It happened around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon, police said.

Firefighters from Sandy Hook, who marched in the parade, happened to be near by and helped the victims after the crash.

According to Director of Communications for Mayor Segarra's office,  the three victims were taken to the hospital and were listed in stable condition.

Four passengers in the fleeing car jumped out of the car after the crash. They were also injured, according to Hartford police.

The names of the victims or the people in the fleeing car have not been released.

Police said the driver of the car, identified as Geraldo Luciano, 27, fled from the scene but was later caught on I-91 in Hartford. He is now facing a list of charges.

Eyewitness News has learned that Luciano already has a criminal history. According to criminal records, he was already set to appear in court on Tuesday for speeding charges.
