HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The 20th ranked University of Hawaii softball team (12-5) won the 2013 Bank of Hawaii invitational with a pair of wins (over Memphis, 5-1, and Western Kentucky 3-0) Sunday.
Kaia Parnaby pitched complete game victories in both outings on her way to earning Most Valuable Pitcher honors. Kelly Majam was tabbed the Most Valuable Player.
Parnaby went 4-0 during the tournament, logging 33 strikeouts and allowing just four earned runs in 28 innings.
Majam led UH with a .412 batting average, going 7-for-17 at the plate with two doubles, a triple and two home runs for a 1.000 slugging percentage. Her home run today against Memphis was her 60th career round-tripper.
