Bows fall to Cal Poly on senior night

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior basketball team fell 64-61 to Cal Poly, putting a damper on Hawaii's senior night.

UH bid aloha to senior center Vander Joaquim, guard Jace Tavita and guard Hauns Brereton who each played at the Stan Sheriff Center for the final time.

In the loss Joaquim poured in 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Brereton scored 13 while Tavita added six points and seven assists. Freshman forward Isaac Fotu led UH with 17 points and 9 rebounds.

With the loss Hawaii (17-12, 10-7) fell from third to fifth in the Big West standings.

UH wraps up their regular season schedule on the road when they pay a visit to Cal State Northridge on Thursday, March 7th.
