Police arrest man accused of setting fires in Nanakuli

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police say a man who allegedly set a series of fires on Helelua Street in Nanakuli early Wednesday morning has been arrested.

The 27-year-old suspect was picked up Friday on suspicion of arson.

Investigators say seven fires started between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. in nearby neighborhoods.

The largest fire scorched about a quarter of an acre and came as close as 20 yards from some townhomes.
