Two students ace math portion of Hawaii State Assessment
KEAAU, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -
For the first time ever, a perfect score has been achieved on a portion of the Hawaii State Assessment.
Not one, but two students got every question correct on the math section of the annual exam, according to the Hawaii Tribune-Herald. Both students attend Waiakea Intermediate School on the Big Island – Anne Nakamoto, 13, is a seventh grader and Bradon Miyake, 13, is in eighth grade.
The paper reports that officials at the Hawaii Department of Education say Nakamoto and Miyake are the first students in the state to ever earn a perfect score of 500 on the math section.
