Kealakehe (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 350lb running back has officially signed his letter of intent to play football at the University of Hawaii.
Kealakehe's David Fangupo received and faxed in his LOI Friday morning. Fangupo gave his verbal commitment to UH back on February 6th and as of this posting still has some academic hurdles to clear but Hawaii News Now was told he received a vote of confidence from the UH coaching staff that significant progress had been made on his part.
As a senior, Fangupo rushed for 538 yards and 10 TDs on 74 carries (7.27 yards per carry).
On the next level, the shifty 6-2, 350-plus pounder projects as an interior defensive lineman, a position he played for most of his high school career.
