TIME RUNNING OUT FOR AUTOMATIC CUTS
The clock is ticking on sequestration. 85 billion in across the board budget cuts go into effect today and many members of Congress have already left for the weekend. Howard Dicus will explain the impact on Hawaii's economy. We'll also talk back live with Rep. Colleen Hanabusa at 5:30 about what's at stake.
OVERNIGHT QUAKE- NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO HAWAII
A 6.7 earthquake jolted the Kuril Islands overnight. It does not pose a tsunami threat to Hawaii.
SURF & WINDS BUILDING
Look for building surf and stronger winds as we head into the weekend. Dan's tracking both on Sunrise.
You still have time to enter to win two tickets to the last showing of Hold These Truths at Tenney Theatre. Just "like" our Hawaii News Now facebook page & post a comment. We'll announce the winner at 6:20 this morning.
ALOHA, SUNRISE OHANA
On a personal note, it's been a lot of fun serving as your Sunrise anchor for the past 2 years. I'm shifting to the 6 & 6:30PM news on Monday and will be watching Grace and the rest of the gang come Monday morning. We'll take a look back at some fun Sunrise memories and talk about what's in store for Grace on this Aloha Friday.
Mahalo and hope to see you for one more Sunrise!
