Teen injured in Waianae assault

WAIANAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

An 18-year-old male was apparently assaulted by several other males Friday night.

He was taken to the trauma center in serious condition.

The incident happened at around 11:36 p.m. at the intersection of Mill and McArthur Street in Waianae.

    A new movie chronicling the journey of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team is being filmed in Honolulu, and filmmakers are looking for volunteers to help reenact an iconic moment. More than 200,000 extras are needed for the scene that will film on Sunday, April 16 at Iolani Palace. The scene takes place in March 1943, when 3,000 Japanese-American soldiers of the newly formed 442nd Regimental Combat Team marched down King Street and were bid aloha by 17,000 well-wishers.
