LIHUE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Kauai Police Department continues to ask for the public's help finding wanted suspect Justin Wynn Klein in connection with the attempted murder of a Japanese visitor in the Kalalau Valley in December.

The Kauai Grand Jury returned an indictment against the 37-year-old homeless man in December. Bail on the Grand Jury warrant is set at $1 million.

"We ask the public to remain vigilant in locating Klein as our officers continue their search for him," stated Kauai Police Chief Darryl Perry. "There is an attempted murder suspect still at-large and we want to find him and bring him to justice."

Police have followed up on numerous tips received since the incident occurred, but the searches failed to turn up any sign of the suspect. As incoming tips have dwindled in recent weeks, KPD is issuing this reminder in hopes of reigniting public awareness.

A witness reported seeing Klein throw a 31-year-old Japanese visitor from a cliff in the Kalalau Valley on the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 16. The female victim was transported to Wilcox Hospital in critical condition, where she remained for 10 days before being released to her family who escorted the woman home.

Justin Wynn Klein is described as a 37-year-old Caucasian male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, with brown hair in a Mohawk style, possibly a moustache and beard, and a band tattoo around his left arm.

CrimeStoppers continues to offer a $1,000 for anyone with information leading to his arrest.
