GUAM (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Two people are dead and 12 others injured in Guam after a driver crashed his car into an ABC store at the Outrigger Resort and then began stabbing tourists.

Authorities arrested and charged Chad Ryan Desoto of Tamuning on two counts of murder and 13 counts of attempted murder.

A spokesperson for Guam Memorial Hospital told Radio Australia that most of those injured were tourists from Japan.

Some of the injured were young children, including two infants.

Guam's Police Chief Fred Bordallo said that here were a total of 14 victims that were hurt either as the car plowed into the ABC Store or when the suspect got out of his car and started stabbing people.

The Guam Visitors Bureau has sent translators to the hospital.

Guam Governor Eddie Calvo says he has spoken to representatives from the Japanese consulate and is working with the victims' families

According to Guam's Pacific Daily News a witness said, "He started stabbing someone and I started freaking out. He was just running back and forth stabbing people."
