WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A local non-profit organization that helps at-risk teens is pleading for the return of some valuable equipment. Someone broke into a van parked on Leahi Avenue near Kapiolani Park between midnight and 4 o'clock on Friday morning.
They stole two laptops, an iPad, and an external hard drive. The gear is used by a group called NALU Studies which helps educate high-risk youth. The hard drive contains critical information that the non-profit needs.
"That has all of our grants and all of our proposals and all of our statistics and information. All the things we use to actually get our grants together. This is a tough time right now for non-profits. We're struggling," said executive director Manning Taite.
A $1,000 reward is being offered, no questions asked. Call 398-2088.
